Being part of Batang Gilas and being successful in their basketball careers.

A simple dream, but the determination and motivation of young players Andril Gabriel Yap and Jacob Maycong are the backbone of their efforts to be part of the ranks of the country's promising amateur basketball players.

Standing at 6'10", Yap can play four positions, and the incoming Grade 10 student at the National University has talent rarely seen in high school players.

“With the help of my father and coaches, I have raised my level of competitiveness. Dribbling and shooting are areas where I still need to work hard to improve. "I want to improve, so I thank NU for the five months I spent practicing with them," said Yap, who also received an invitation to practice with and try out for the national junior team last year, during a Thursday visit to the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports, Inc. (TOPS) Usapang Sports at the PSC Conference Room.

On the other hand, Jacob Maycong, a 13-year-old guard standing at 6’3, has already gained valuable experience playing in international junior competitions in countries like Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Despite his achievements, Maycong remains determined to enhance his game and eventually earn a spot on the National Team.

“The experience of playing abroad is a big help as a basketball player. I still lack a lot in my game, so I am determined to learn more and develop my talent to get a chance to play for the National Team,” said the incoming Grade 9 student at Adamson University, in a program sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission, Behrouz Persian Cuisine, and Pocari Sweat.

Both Yap and Maycong possess exceptional talent and drive, and they are in need of support to nurture their skills further. Recently, Doctor Odsman Wellness Revolution, a company led by Norman Afable and Bong Maycong, selected them as ambassadors. The company is dedicated to promoting holistic wellness through the development and distribution of high-quality food supplements and vitamins aimed at enhancing natural immunity.

As a key proponent of grassroots basketball development, Afable believes in the importance of maintaining strong immune systems and overall wellness, especially for aspiring athletes like Yap and Maycong. The company’s products, such as Immuncell-C and NeuronerBcell Forte, are designed to provide safe and effective alternatives for improving health and immunity.

Norman Afable and Bong Maycong's initiative not only focuses on providing affordable health solutions but also extends support to young athletes like Yap and Maycong, ensuring that they stay healthy and capable of pursuing their athletic dreams.

The company has developed and produced various food supplements and vitamins that are now available in the market and leading drug stores nationwide.

“This is my vision, a wellness revolution. It must be the right medicine. It must be quality. Bring back the true Natural Immunity- Strong and Healthy,” said Afable, a basketball organizer at the grassroots level.

“Healing in Every Capsule- Bring back the Natural Immunity Holistic Wellness Revolution. Immuncell-C is Ascorbic acid + Zinc, which is an effective substitute for the harmful vitamin-C. NeuronerBcell Forte is a Vitamin B Complex for Pulikat, Ngimay, Stroke, and Neuro & Nerve Cell vitamins. It is a good substitute for branded medicines because of its fair price and quality. Again, bring back the Natural Immunity of the Body,” said the former Jose Rizal College star.

Maycong emphasized that the company’s goal is to help the Filipino masses, which is why they launched the sale of cheap vitamins and food supplements. At the same time, they support young players to keep their bodies healthy so that they can fulfill their dreams of excelling in sports and life.

“We are touring the provinces to teach proper health education. We support young players so that they can keep their bodies healthy. A healthy community is the foundation of a rich country,” said Maycong.
