Aleia Aielle Aguilar continues to etch her name in the global jiu-jitsu stage, clinching yet another remarkable milestone in her young but fast-rising career.
The eight-year-old phenom dominated the Kids 2, Girls Gi, 22kg A Class (grey belt division) of the prestigious Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (AJP), blanking Sarah Abuhijleh of the United Arab Emirates, 3-0, in the finals.
Aielle earned her championship berth after submitting another UAE bet, Maitha Almas, via a perfectly executed armbar in the semifinals.
The victory marked Aielle’s fourth World Championship title under the AJP banner—one of the most globally recognized and competitive platforms in the sport.
“I’m so thankful to God that I won again,” said Aielle, beaming with pride as her father, Filipino mixed martial arts pioneer Alvin Aguilar, watched her triumph inside the Madubala Arena. “Thank you all, especially those who have been giving me encouraging words before this event.”
The annual Abu Dhabi event attracts elite jiu-jitsu practitioners from around the world. It is highly regarded within the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) community, known for its emphasis on ground control and submission techniques.
Aielle, however, is no stranger to this level of competition.
“I focus on every move. Be patient in practice because that is the key to winning,” she shared.
Her discipline has paid off immensely, as Aielle remains unbeaten this year. Before her latest conquest, she already claimed two major titles: the IBJJF PAN Kids Championship in Orlando, Florida, and the Marianas Open in Guam.
With multiple World Championships across both IBJJF and AJP—the sport’s most esteemed circuits—Aielle Aguilar continues to solidify her status as one of the most dominant young athletes in the global jiu-jitsu scene.
