A total of 57 entries will compete in the first day of the semifinal round of this year's second edition of the World Slasher Cup 9-Cock Invitational Derby after surviving a tough two-cock elimination round last Wednesday night, May 21, at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Participants who scored 1.5 points and 1 point in the elimination round will also move on to the semifinals.

The semi-final winners will move on to the four-cock pre-finals on May 26 and the grand finals on May 27; they will crown a new World Slasher Cup champion there.
